Biography
GABRIEL KENGNI
Gabriel Kengni, PhD, is an author and a proud Montgomery County Public Schools educator in Maryland and professor of mathematics at the University of Phoenix. Dr. Kengni’s work has been praised by President Obama’s White House. In December 2011, Dr. Kengni was invited to the White House, where he was congratulated on two fronts. First, his success at achieving National Board Certification was celebrated: “You not only represent the best of the teaching profession, you are defining what the profession is.” Second, the White House celebrated Dr. Kengni with a very special Certification Day. An expert in mathematics and computer science in the classroom, Dr. Kengni participated in the annual forum of the National Commission for Vocational Standards, organized by the Domestic Policy Council of the White House, in collaboration with the secretary of education, to celebrate the importance of the teaching profession in the construction of a new nation and to honor highly accomplished teachers. Prior to becoming an educator, Dr. Kengni worked as a telecommunication engineer with the World Bank, TimeBridge Technology, Pulsa Data System, UUNET, and MCI WorldCom. In all the fields Dr. Kengni has been in, he has always earned the highest level of accomplishment, including a PhD in computer science and information technology. He is a Cisco Certified Networking Expert (CCIE) in telecommunication and networking and earned a National Board Certification in Teaching (NBCT). Dr. Kengni and his family have traveled around the world, including Australia, Canada, Africa (Cameroon, Gabon, Nigeria, Niger, and Ethiopia), and Europe (Slovenia, France, and the UK). Dr. Kengni lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, with his wife and children.
